Let the big decisions begin… It’s time to order our windows and Josh and I have been talking about this for weeks knowing it’s one of the first things (design wise) that gets ordered. Of course I had in my heard (thanks to Pinterest) what I REALLY wanted which was black windows. As much of a trend it may be I think they look super classy with a white board and batten farmhouse feel. I quickly was told “no” (Josh’s favorite word) purely due to the cost…

So option #2 – white windows but with a specific grid pattern is what I was going for. It became a whole ordeal, I may have thrown a little fit, because Josh and I were not on the same page. (Shocker I know) He was totally fine with buying the basic cheap on the shelf versions of windows at Lowe’s, plain simple and boring. I on the other hand was going for a vision, a whole detailed look and feel that I really wanted to create.
Lots of discussion later, Josh got two quotes from Lowe’s, one with grids and one without. Surprisingly there wasn’t a huge price difference between the two. $4,500 for no grids and $4,900 with grids. Josh, with the information given, was fine with us spending the extra $400 to get the grid ones I really wanted.
Here’s where it gets interesting… Yes they are grids, yes they are just a single cross grid in the window pane BUT it’s not the single cross look in the whole window. (Pictures below to explain). Josh had a hard time seeing or understanding the difference and truly thought he was giving me exactly what I had wanted.

I know he was super frustrated with me when I wasn’t ecstatic when I saw the order. It was sooo close just not 100% but after TONS and TONS of conversations, thoughts, processing I decided I was fine with. It will still look great and work with the overall design plan I’m going for. It’ll all work out and be beautiful, just took me a minute to process and adjust. These are huge hard decisions and I want to make the right one and be sure I’m going to love them 5, 10, 20 years from now.
Sooo just when we were pressing the GO button on ordering the windows, after all of the back and forth, etc. Lowe’s was able to do what I was looking for!! They made the cross’s and it didn’t really change the price!! OMG I was so excited!! Yippie!! One BIG THING crossed off the list!!

I love this! It’s so cool that when finances say ” No, we really shouldn’t do that due to cost , then God opens a door and provides the desires of our heart sometimes. Makes the windows even more special 💞. Yea God!
