Well, we’ve survived our first FULL WEEK in the trailer and SO MUCH has happened in a week! Here’s a little recap…
- Jaz had a full week of classes & soccer! He has Math, English, Western Civilization, Spanish, Culinary, Band, Physical Science and Bible. So far so good… It’s been long days and late nights with soccer and having some homework so we’re trying to set some new routines and stay on top of things.
- We were still able to use the laundry and main bathroom all week for showers – SO NICE!
- Josh’s Mom, Dana, and I over the weekend while the guys were doing demo finished painting the office inside and outside. It looks so good!
- We got the floor in the office DONE! Yippie!! We were then able to move our dressers into the office and my desk and our couch. I was able to get my desk area setup and so it’s fully functioning now! We also moved Raven, my cat, into the office so she has her home now (all week we had to keep her in one of the bedrooms inside the house – she hated it)
- I had a SYL board meeting on Tuesday night and next thing I know Josh is throwing a bunny into the trailer while I’m on zoom… I swear sometimes we live on a funny farm… apparently they are getting really smart and know how to open their cage and get out – that’s all I can come up with… So Josh was trying to catch them as they are running around the farm and then he threw them in the trailer… fun times!
- We had a big oak tree cut down! It was semi close to the house but it was not healthy and diseased so we had a local company come and take the whole top out of it. It’s so crazy and scary to watch them climb up and take out a tree. I do not envy them!
- Josh has been working NON STOP, like literally 16+ hour days trying to get things done. They had a big fence job all week for Elevated and then he would come up and keep working. There’s been tons more demo and Clint, one of our Elevated employees, has been working at the farm. They were able to get the NEW front door location framed in as well as the french door and window location on the front of the house framed in. Along with lots more demo….
- Our big push is to get the corner foundations poured and new framing done to square off the house for when trusses come the first week of October. The more we dig into things the more complicated things get. We keep finding pipes (really old and some newer) that we don’t exactly know what all they are that Josh is having to work through and make sure we can get the foundation footings ready to go.
We’re tired but we’re pushing through and getting lots done!
