Hey friends,
I just thought I would take a minute and share some moments about trailer living so far… It’s an adjustment for us all and there’s tons of compromise that has to take place constantly.
- I’m learning how to bake in the tiniest RV oven there is… it’s an adventure. I wish they made them convection style so things would cook more evenly… it’s just the one strip of heat in the middle of the oven so everything gets hotter and burns in the middle and doesn’t cook on the outside so I’ve learned longer and lower times is what it’s gonna have to be to make it work.
- It’s impossible to be quiet in the trailer or not know when someone is up… the whole trailer shakes when you move around and every door and drawer has a latch so there’s no being quiet to do anything…
- I’ve filled up the shower with grey water (sink water) 2 or 3 times just from doing dishes… It fills up so fast… (we finally got hoses hooked up where the grey water will just drain into the field)
- The hot water is INSTANT hot and I mean HOT!! You can easily burn your little hands just washing them or doing dishes haha
- There’s NO counter space… ugh.. it makes things difficult when it comes to cooking and cleaning. There’s something sitting on every surface which makes me a little nutty.
- I’m so glad we have our full size fridge plugged in outside of the trailer for extra storage! It’s so helpful!!
- We haven’t had to start showering in the trailer yet but I know it’s coming so that will be interesting…
- It’s always a game of clean up just to feel like you’re not living in constant clutter and things everywhere on every surface… But at least cleaning is easy since it’s so small!
But overall, it hasn’t been awful. It’s just back and forth between three buildings right now – mostly in the trailer for cooking and sleeping, working and grabbing clothes in the office and then showering in the house. It’s a constant back and forth game. But we are getting used to it. It could be worse FOR SURE!
