It’s so hard to believe that summer is over in just a few short weeks and it’s back to the school life routine. Some of which has already started since Jaz is doing soccer this fall and now that he’s in High School (WHAT! High School!!).
I knew several months ago that we were going to need a family vacation and heading into fall it was going to be harder to get away so I booked a trip to Silverwood in Idaho for us to go on again. We went last summer as well and had a great time. We just got back on Tuesday and again had a good time. The weather wasn’t as amazing as the year before due to wildfires and smoke filling the area but fun was still had and it was nice to take a break for a minute from everything happening at home. I will say it took a few days to get into vacation mode… with so much happening and so much on our plate trying to decompress took a minute.

Tomorrow Jaz turns 15, also super crazy! He’s changed so much over the last few years and time truly has passed by so fast! I’m sitting in the car writing this post while watching him on the soccer field at practice. For his birthday he wanted to go to Wings & Waves Waterpark so after lunch, cake and gifts at the farm tomorrow that’s where we will be heading. In the evening we hope to head downtown McMinnville to hang out and watch the cars for Cruising McMinnville, a fun local event where people just “cruise the gut” like in the old days!

He starts his Freshman year at Western Christian School on September 6th. Jaz will have a full schedule with school, I believe he will be doing band again this year, soccer and karate. Which means a crazy schedule for us all but it only lasts for a season, right? It’s important to Josh and I that he gets to create these memories, have fun, try new things, make commitments and give them your all.
I’m excited to see where life goes for him and pray he continues to build confidence, increase his faith, learn it’s ok to trust and find passions. You got this Jaz, now let’s have a great Freshman year!
